  1. What is medical tourism?

    Medical tourism is the practice of travelling outside of your home country for medical treatment. Many patients choose to avoid the high-cost and/or long wait times of domestic medical services by seeking out treatment at international institutions. For some it is also an opportunity to combine medical care with a vacation in another country.

    Yes. All SlovaMed's staff is fluent in English as are all our surgeons, nurses and care workers. In addition English is a common second language in the Slovak Republic and you will have no problems communicating if you choose to explore the county.

  7. Is the necessary medication included in the price?

    Yes. You will receive all necessary medication. Depending on the procedure, you will be able to self-administer pain medication during your recovery via a drip system.

  8. Can I decide to stay longer in the Slovak Republic?

    Certainly. Please let us know if you plan to stay longer in the Slovak Republic so that we may arrange the treatment around your schedule.

  9. Do you offer package discounts on multiple procedures?

    Yes. The discounts vary based on the procedure, but since each procedure includes basic examinations, transportation, and clinic stay, these and other costs will not be applied to any additional treatments. The more procedures you combine the more you save. We will inform you of any potential discounts when you receive your quote.

  10. Is the airplane cabin pressure a concern on the trip home?

    No. It is perfectly safe to fly following a surgical procedure provided you have completed your prescribed recovery period. For your comfort you might want to tell the airline about your situation and ask for preferred seating on the plane.
